Dubai has done it again. Atlantis The Royal just snagged the Michelin Architecture & Design Award 2025, and honestly? I can’t say I’m surprised. Hotels like Atlantis The Royal don’t get Michelin stars like restaurants — they get Michelin Keys, and this one isn’t about just looking fancy but a place that grabs your undivided attention the second you take a step inside.
Atlantis The Royal Dubai Wins Michelin Keys, The Design Honour For 2025
You might ask why this is when you have a plethora of ultra-luxe hotels. But Atlantis The Royal? It feels different. Big? Absolutely. Luxurious? Of course.
Opened in 2023, this place didn’t wait long to make an impression. Run by Kerzner International, it’s the latest chapter in the famous Atlantis saga — yes, the one known for seriously over-the-top experiences. It’s only been two years, and the place is already stacking up awards like it’s collecting trophies for fun.
Sitting right on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the views are just… something else. One side, the endless Arabian Gulf. The other, Dubai’s skyline sparkling like it’s on display just for you.
Design That Stops You & Makes You Think
Seriously, this place doesn’t look like anything else in Dubai. Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the six towers stacked and offset, and it’s the kind of setup that makes you mutter “wow” without even realising it. Sky bridges, open-air spaces — sometimes it feels more like a sculpture than a building.
And then there’s Cloud 22. A sky bridge lounge and infinity pool, 90 metres above ground. Picture yourself with a cocktail, the sun sinking into the Gulf. Can you even imagine? Inside, G.A Group keeps the magic going. The lobby has a giant water sculpture called “Droplets”, celebrating the desert’s first rain. It’s made out of Marble, glass, water, and light, all come together in a magnificent piece that’ll have your eyes stuck, admire the beauty. It also has a private terrace or you can wander through a sky garden.
Rooms, Food, and Just Pure Indulgence
There are 795 rooms, suites, and penthouses. Some suites have private infinity pools. Penthouses? Tiny kingdoms in the sky. Dining is next-level. Over a dozen restaurants run by world-famous chefs. Pools, gardens, water features — the whole place makes you slow down, breathe, maybe even swoon a little. And the small things matter too. Pillow menus, Hermès toiletries, you can tell someone cared about everything, down to the tiniest detail.
