1. UAE Records 3.5 Magnitude Earthquake

On August 8, Friday, UAE recorded a 3.5 magnitude earthquake. This was reported by the National Centre of Meteorology, and the earthquake occurred at 12 AM. It happened in Al Sila’a, Abu Dhabi, at a depth of 3 km.

2. Sheikh Mohammed Visited Lulu Hypermarket In Dubai

Recently, shoppers spotted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. He was spotted at Lulu Hypermarket in Silicon Central Mall. He dropped in for an impromptu visit and was seen walking through the aisles, taking a look at the items.

3. Julith Makes Coffee History With World-Record Purchase

Recently, Julith made coffee history by purchasing AED2,218,785 for auction coffee. Yes, as a part of the 2025 Panama Auction, this is a rare Geisha varietal. It is from the famous Hacienda La Esmeralda estate, and it was a record-breaking price.

4. Yas Mall Offers Free Walking Club

Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi is offering a free walking club on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This is from 8 AM to 9 AM, and it starts at the fashion entrance. Members of the club get to walk through the quiet corridors and even enjoy some benefits. This includes 25% off at Lululemon, coffee deals, and even free snacks!

5. 100 Youth Join Camel Heritage Trek

A hundred youths have joined the 1,000 km trek across the UAE. This is the Camel Heritage Trek that will take them across the desert, coastal and mountains. A month-long journey, it aims to deepen cultural awareness.

6. First Phase Of Non-Paid Parking Launched In Residential Neighbourhood

Riyadh has launched the first phase of non-managed parking in residential neighbourhoods. Yes, this is a part of the Riyadh Parking Project and it’s the first phase of the non-paid parking. With the aim of organising public vehicle parking, it also aims to promote improper practices, like spillover cars.

7. First Hotels Revealed For Qiddiya

Qiddiya has partnered with Adeera, which is a Public Investment Fund-backed company. And the first hotels have been revealed for Qiddiya City. Introducing a new model in hotel management, it is bound to elevate Saudi identity in hospitality experiences. Adeera’s Saudiborn hotels include Alia, Sama, and Noor.

8. Egyptian Bakery Shut Down In Abu Dhabi

The ADAFSA has shut down the administrative closure of the Egyptian Bakery. This bakery in Abu Dhabi has been shut for violating Law number 2 of 2008, which concerns food in the emirate. This was due to the fact that it poses a risk to public health.

9. Snooker Masters Tournament To Happen In Jeddah

Jeddah is all set to host the Snooker Masters, which is happening today, Friday, August 8th. The event will take place until August 16 at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City. As a result, you can expect elite snooker players from around the world.

10. Expo City Dubai Certified
