During Intersec 2026, Dubai Civil Defence unveiled an advanced smart robotic firefighting system. This firefighting system is capable of pumping 40 litres of water per second, and can even reach targets that are up to 60 metres away. Sounds quite amazing, doesn’t it? Here’s all you need to know about this development.
Dubai Civil Defence Unveils Firefighting Robot
The Dubai Civil Defence has unveiled an advanced smart robotic firefighting system. This reinforces the emirates’ commitment towards innovation in emergency response and public safety. As revealed by the Dubai Civil Defence in its post on X, the launch took place during Intersec 2026. The integrated suite of intelligent robotic technologies that have been designed for firefighting, training, and reconnaissance in high-risk environments was showcased at the event.
It Reflects The Vision Of Dubai
As it happens, Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, who is the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defence, mentioned how this reflects the vision of the leadership that places human safety at the core of civil protection. As it happens, the D2W firefighting robot has been engineered to operate in hazardous settings. This could be in cases of high-rise buildings, warehouses, or even an industrial facility. The robot can deliver up to 2,400 litres of water per minute at a pressure of 8 bar. This would enable effective fire suppression from a safe distance.
First Explorer Also Introduced
Complete with high durability and the ability to withstand hose pressure of up to 8 bar, along with the pulling force of 200 KG, it helps to stabilise the hose during intensive firefighting operations. As it happens, the DCD also presented a small robot called the First Explorer. This is used for training and reconnaissance. It is often used for firefighting training and to transmit live footage during emergencies, and conduct on-site assessments as well.
All of these events happened during Intersec 2026, which brings together the latest innovations across five key sectors. As it happens, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the 27th edition of the event, which is running until January 14th at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
