A Gulf News report mentions how the GDRFA – Dubai has cracked down on violations, which involve the promotion of unauthorised visa and residency services. This was led by the Investigation and Follow-up Department, which falls within the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector. It is a part of its ongoing efforts, which aim to protect the community members. Raising awareness against such misleading practises, the aim is to protect the community against the risks that are associated with dealing with such service providers that are not approved by the authorities.

It is important to combat unauthorised practises as it is essential for safeguarding customer rights. Not to mention, it also ensures that visa and residency services are obtained only through approved channels. Specialised teams continuously monitor activities. The Investigation and Follow-up Department then immediately launched into monitoring and verification procedures when they received information about suspicious online activities. This was done after enquiries confirmed that certain entities do promote authorised visa and residence services through digital platforms, and necessary measures were taken against them.
