Dubai is getting ready for the Eid al-Adha holidays in a big way. And this year, Dubai’s security and traffic setup looks massive for Eid al-Adha. Authorities have announced a full holiday plan covering roads, beaches, mosques, tourist spots and busy shopping areas across the emirate. Basically, anywhere crowds are expected, there will probably be police patrols nearby.
Dubai Ramps Up Security And Traffic Control Ahead Of Eid al-Adha Rush
The preparations were confirmed during a meeting held at Al Qusais Police Station, as per Gulf News. According to officials, the goal is simple enough: keep traffic moving, avoid accidents and make sure people enjoy Eid safely without complete road chaos.
Thousands Of Patrols Will Be Out Across Dubai
Dubai’s Event Security Committee says 1,642 security patrols will operate during the holiday period. There will also be helicopters in the sky, marine patrol boats in the water and rescue teams spread around the city.
Also included in the plan are 208 Civil Defence vehicles, 37 land rescue patrols, 50 bicycle patrols and 160 ambulance points.
For many residents, that probably explains why security presence always feels extra visible during long UAE holidays.
The plan covers major mosques and prayer grounds too, especially during Eid prayers when traffic tends to build up very quickly in certain neighbourhoods.
Traffic Could Get Busy, So Authorities Are Preparing Early
Dubai authorities are expecting heavy movement across roads, beaches and tourist attractions during the break.
To manage that, the city has increased public transport and taxi availability across the emirate. Officials say there will be 106 trains running, alongside 14,500 taxis, 18,500 luxury limousine vehicles and 1,400 public buses.
Marine transport is also being expanded with 55 water transport vehicles operating during Eid.
But traffic control is not just about adding vehicles. The Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police are also coordinating through several operations and monitoring centres to react quickly if congestion builds up.
Residents Are Being Asked To Stay Careful
Authorities are also using the Eid announcement to remind people not to get reckless during the holidays.
Authorities urged drivers to stick to speed limits and avoid dangerous driving, warning that accidents can leave serious physical and financial damage behind. He also advised jet ski users to stay away from crowded family beaches.
Parents were specifically asked to keep an eye on children near pools, beaches and busy public spaces.
And then came the fireworks warning. Dubai Police urged families not to let children play with fireworks during Eid celebrations because of the risk of burns, injuries and fires.

Workers Across Dubai Will Also Get Eid Activities
Meanwhile, entertainment events and sports activities are being organised for workers living in areas like Jebel Ali, Al Satwa, Al Muhaisnah and Al Quoz.
The activities will take place during the first two days of Eid from 6 pm until midnight and are aimed at helping workers join in the celebrations too.
