Dubai does not sit back and wait till the traffic is jammed. It builds ahead of it. With the residential areas growing and the people moving with it, the emirate continually upgrades its religious infrastructural facilities to suit the actual needs on the ground. In this very year, Dubai has already opened 10 new mosques and intends to open five more even within the period of Ramadan.
Dubai Constructs 10 New Mosques And Intends To Build 5 More Before Ramadan 2026
It is reported by Gulf News that this increase is a larger-scale plan of expansion of mosque capacity and accessibility to places of worship in the expanding neighbourhoods in 2026. The mission is also direct: make sure that each community does not feel underserved, particularly at the most hectic prayerful time of the year.
A City That Reacts To Development, Not To Catch-Up
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department is the driving force of the initiative, which states that the opening of the mosques is the direct response to the high-speed urbanisation of Dubai. New residential areas generate new prayer requirements, and the authorities are hustling to fulfil them.
The plan also intends to establish a more conducive spiritual ambience during Ramadan when attendance is highest, and the mosque is usually full.
The Mosque Locations Of The New Mosques
The new mosques being opened are located in some of the main residential and mixed-use areas, which include coverage of the emirate. These include:
- Zamzam Mosque
- Al Ghani Mosque
- Al Hadi Mosque
- Hind Saif Al Ghurair Mosque
- Ali bin Abdullah Gargash Mosque.
- Al Walidain Mosque
- Dr Hussain bin Ghatti Mosque
- Amina bint Hamidan Mosque
- Khalifa bin Sultan Al Habtoor and Sons Mosque.
- Al Rahman Mosque
- All these mosques are set to benefit thousands of worshippers every day.
Mosques As Community Centres, Not Just Prayer Halls
The governments are not ambiguous on anything. It is not only numerical figures that are involved in these projects, but also neighbourhood life.
The mosques in Dubai usually serve as a social centre, where individuals gather, meditate, and console each other. The city underlines this role by locating them in residential clusters and removing the pressure on older and overcrowded sites.
Ramadan Preparation Is Underway
Director of Customer Service of the department, Mohammed Jassim Al Mansoori, stated that the openings are based on leadership priorities to make religious practise easier and more available. He affirmed that an elaborate operation strategy has already been instituted so that the mosques can be ready for the latter during Ramadan.
That comprises maintenance, staffing, precautions and preparedness of service. During the sacred month, worshippers can look forward to clean, comfortable and well-managed areas.

Contemporary Systems In Support Of Traditional Spaces
In addition to the physical growth, the department is still refurbishing the operations of mosques with smart systems and other advanced standards. These strategies help in sustainability, better management of endowment and modernisation in the daily running of the mosques.
In the case of a developing city, such as Dubai, such planning ensures that spiritual life is in line with the reality of the city.
