It was recently revealed that Dubai International Airport has installed over 500 hearing loops. This is across all three terminals of the airport. The aim is to enhance accessibility for travellers who have hearing loss. The hearing aid devices targeted locations at the airport. Hereās all you need to know about this fantastic update from the airport in Dubai.
DXB Installs 500+ Hearing Loops
As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, these hearing aid devices have targeted locations at the DXB. This includes the immigration desk, check-in encounters, information desk, and boarding gate. And the best bit is that the system is quite easy to work with. Users can automatically connect by activating the T (telecoil) setting on their device.
This requires no pairing and no additional equipment. With the installation completed, there will be minimal disruption to the airport operations. This comes at a time when Dubai Airport has given its staff extensive training to support guests of determination.

Aligns With Dubaiās Universal Design Code
Additionally, the move also aligned with Dubaiās Universal Design Code. The aim is to give inclusive access to public spaces and transport infrastructure. In fact, it was back in 2024 when DXB also opened a quiet stress-relief area. This was for people of determination! It is located in Terminal 2 of DXB and can accommodate wheelchairs. In fact, it is also equipped with features that have been carefully designed to meet the needs of people who have autism, visual disabilities, or impaired hearing.
This is a fantastic development as DXB received 92.3 million guests in 2024. This is the highest annual traffic in the airportās history! And it has continued to maintain its position as the worldās busiest airport when it comes to international passenger traffic for 2024 as well.
