Abu Dhabi is constantly hosting fun-filled events that are absolutely worth visiting. And the latest upcoming event in Abu Dhabi is the Fahid Island Watersports Festival. Yes, this is a watersports festival that will be taking place from October 25th to November 2nd, and Fahid Island is bound to come alive with exciting water sports. Launched in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, who is the President of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, here’s all about it.

Fahid Island Watersports Festival To Begin This Weekend

Fahid Island in Abu Dhabi will become alive super soon, as it will see 11 km of its coastline transform into a lively hub for sports, beachside fun, and music. This festival will start with the SFT E-Foil World Cup, which will happen on October 25th and 26th. After this, there will be the GKA Kite World Tour, which will happen from October 25th to 30th. This will be followed by the GWA Wingfoil World Cup from October 28th to November 2nd, and the Wake Foil World Cup, which will take place on November 1st and 2nd.

Highlights Of The Festival

For those who aren’t aware, for the first time ever, Abu Dhabi is hosting the Kite World Cup. As mentioned previously, it is being held as a part of the Fahid Island Watersports Festival. And there will be participation from more than 150 elite professional athletes from around the world.

Coming back to the Fahid Island Watersports Festival, this event is being held in partnership with Aldar, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and AD Ports Group. With a variety of world-class sporting programmes. This includes kite surfing, wake foiling, e-foiling, hydrofoiling, wing foiling, and freestyle surfing.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that visitors can catch these competitions and even join beachside activities. As they enjoy live music and food that would be set up along the shore, this is an event that every watersport enthusiast would love. The best bit is that it’s absolutely free to attend!
