Egypt’s Cabinet has ended the Sunday work-from-home system introduced earlier this year. The Cabinet approved the suspension of Prime Ministerial Decision No. 982 of 2026 on September 30, bringing the six-month arrangement to an end.
The system was introduced in April as part of measures aimed at reducing electricity and fuel consumption. It did not apply to sectors and roles that require employees to be physically present, including essential services.
