From Littering To Unauthorised Barbecuing, Dubai’s New App Lets You Instantly Report Violations!

You know how Dubai always manages to look incredibly clean? Well, there’s a reason for that, and now they’re taking it up another notch. Say hello to Eltizam, Dubai’s new high-tech app to notify the authorities and catch people who litter or violate public spaces by actions. And honestly, after seeing how some people treat beautiful places, maybe we need this kind of thing.

So here’s the deal, Eltizam isn’t something regular folks like you and me can download. It’s specifically for city officials who have special authority under a new Dubai law from 2024. These officers can click photos of an offence, add notes, and record the exact location, all on the spot. Once submitted, the violation is instantly logged for action.

The goal is simple: preserve Dubai’s public spaces so residents and visitors alike can enjoy them without dodging litter, stains, or unwanted smoke from a rogue grill.

8 Things That’ll Get You In Trouble

The app focuses on eight main problems that apparently drive the authorities crazy:

  1. Spitting everywhere
  2. Throwing gum on the ground
  3. General littering
  4. Dumping stuff in the ocean or on beaches
  5. Washing cars in random places
  6. BBQing wherever you want
  7. Slapping advertisements on everything
  8. Not cleaning up after your pets

Why Dubai Really Cares About This

The Emirates’ reputation for being spotless is spread across the globe. With millions of tourists flocking in every year and residents paying premium prices to call the city home, cleanliness is the ideal factor they look for.

The whole digital approach makes sense, too. Dubai’s love for its technology fits right into its smart city vision.

The Bigger Picture

At the end of the day, we all share these spaces, from stunning beaches to parks. Dubai’s always been ambitious about staying ahead of the curve. This Eltizam thing might just be another small piece of what keeps the city feeling special and worth the high cost of living.
