If your idea of a wellness retreat involves back-to-back yoga sessions and an itinerary tighter than your work calendar, KHUN is here to flip that. The self-described preventative wellness company is set to debut its first destination in Fujairah later in 2026, and it’s taking a deliberately different approach. Rather than filling your time with programming, KHUN leans on architecture, landscape and intentional solitude to do the work, with 48-hour experiences built around health, environment and restoration, with wellbeing practices rooted in Arabic traditions rather than imported wellness trends.
A Wellness Concept That Skips The Schedule
What “KHUN” Actually Means
The name itself is a clue. KHUN translates to “Be” in Arabic, and that’s very much the point. This isn’t about ticking off activities; it’s about giving guests permission to simply exist for a couple of days. The concept comes from three founders, Ali El-Sakhawy, Tarek Abou Dib and Aya Khourshid, who’ve drawn on the Arab world’s long-standing philosophies around health and environment to shape the experience. Aya Khourshid, Co-Founder and Director of Wellness Lineage, has spoken about the idea of “Afiyah” sitting at the heart of KHUN, a sense of wholeness that comes from how we relate to the world around us, and a philosophy of care she describes as reviving something that’s always been part of the region’s heritage.

Details Are Still Under Wraps, But Fujairah Is Just The Start
Specifics like exact dates, pricing and the precise location within Fujairah haven’t been released yet, though the debut is confirmed for before the end of 2026. What we do know is that KHUN isn’t planning to stay put. The concept has been designed to be relocatable, meaning future editions could pop up elsewhere in the UAE and the region, each one built to preserve the natural landscape it lands in while still creating that same sense of intentional escape. For now, Fujairah gets the first look, and if you want to stay in the loop, KHUN’s Instagram (@khunreset) is the place to watch.
