Everybody boards a flight hoping and praying that there will be nothing which could cause them a delay or endanger their life. Yes, something similar happened on an IndiGo flight from Kochi that was headed to Abu Dhabi, and it suffered a mid-air technical snag.

IndiGo Flight Returns To Kochi After Mid-Air Technical Snag

An IndiGo flight, which was headed to Abu Dhabi, had to return to Cochin International Airport in Kerala. The reason cited for this return is a technical snag mid-air. As a result, the flight which departed at 11 PM on Friday has to make a return. The passengers, as mentioned in a report by The Hindu and the Times of India, stated how they were later flown on an alternative aircraft on Saturday, September 6th at 3:33 AM.

It is being speculated that there were 180 passengers on board and six crew members as well. However, the airline has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident. It should be noted that the aircraft had been airborne for two hours before it had to return to Kochi. It’s worth mentioning that a new crew went on the next flight, as the previous one had to be relieved due to flight duty limitations.

Not The Only Such Incident

This incident comes just a day after an Air India Express flight also went through something similar. The Delhi-Indore flight with 161 passengers made a PAN-PAN call after suffering a mid-air engine fault. This is a code for a non-life-threatening emergency. The flight later landed at the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore with a delay of 20 minutes.

The aircraft had made a safe priority landing at 10:05 AM instead of the scheduled time of 9:35 AM.

So, with such incidents, it’s important to be thankful for the quick thinking of the pilots as they make our journey easier.
