Departments in Kuwait are ensuring that 1,700 mosques around the six governorates of the country are ready for worshippers.

With Ramadan just a few weeks away, Kuwait’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs is completing extensive preparations. Yes, this is being done to receive worshippers for Taraweeh and late-night prayers. As reported by Al Qabas daily, which was quoted by the Gulf News, departments are making sure that 1,700 mosques around the six governorates of the country are ready to welcome the worshippers.

1700 Mosques In Kuwait Being Prepared For Ramadan

As further revealed by the Gulf News, the scope of work includes everything from completing maintenance and ensuring regular servicing to thorough cleanup and also preparing women’s prayer halls and the external courtyard. The maintenance team will be on duty around the clock throughout the month to ensure that worshippers can pray in peace.

What Does The Scope Of Work Include?

As it happens, the report also mentions how dedicated teams have been assigned to monitor contractors and to ensure the timely completion of major maintenance and construction works. This includes civil, electrical, audio, air conditioning, and lift systems. In fact, it also mentions how mosques will be not be reopened unless maintenance has been completed in full to safeguard the worshippers.

Government Bodies Are Coordinating For This

Not only this, but the ministry is also coordinating with government bodies, which also include the interior ministry, social affairs and health authorities, and fire and civil defence. This is being done to ensure safety, deploy volunteers, regulate donations, and offer ambulance and other emergency medical services at Ramadan Centres. Measures are also being undertaken to prevent begging and to regulate donations.

Finally, Ramadan centres are going to be designed in such a way that they meet the local needs. These preparations are in full swing, after all, the holy month of Ramadan is hardly a few days away. And during this month, Muslims around the world observe fast during the day. Regarded as the month of communal prayer, reflection, and community, it lights up cities during the night with excitement and festivities.
