Life in the city can feel like a loop on repeat, with deadlines, commutes, and a little too much seriousness. Come on, we all know the feeling. Somewhere between rushing to work and checking emails, it’s easy to forget the joy of the simple things: a child’s laugh, toes in the sand, or just doing something purely for fun. This September, Dubai is shaking off the routine with a giant playground, thanks to the LEGO Group’s “Never Stop Playing” initiative, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group PJSC.
LEGO “Never Stop Playing” Brings Giant Interactive Fun To Dubai This September
Think giant LEGO® swings, towering seesaws, and massive brick-built cranes scattered across the city, playful installations that invite everyone, young and old, to pause, smile, and rediscover the magic of imagination.
Turning Dubai Into A LEGO Playground
As part of LEGO’s global Rebuild the World campaign, the initiative transforms everyday Dubai into a city of wonder. From 12th to 30th September, eight iconic locations across the city will host immersive, interactive LEGO builds. It’s not just for kids, either, adults are encouraged to swing, balance, and explore like they did as children. In practice, this is the kind of initiative that sparks genuine smiles and a little healthy mischief.
Global LEGO research shows that many children feel pressured to grow up too fast. Nearly half admit they’ve given up playing games because adults deem them “childish.” To be fair, that’s a problem, and LEGO’s initiative aims to fix it, one colourful brick at a time.
Explore The Installations
Each location has its own playful surprise:
- Dubai Design District (d3): Giant LEGO seesaws, hopscotch, and a claw crane that feels almost alive.
- Dubai Frame: Take a turn on a giant LEGO swing with panoramic city views.
- Al Barsha Pond Park: Spot oversized LEGO pigeons and turtles for fun photo ops.
- Blossoms Park, Nad Al Sheba: Oversized LEGO heart and hummingbird that you can walk around.
- Al Khawaneej Pond Park: A massive LEGO cactus, yes, seriously.
- Jumeirah Beach 3: LEGO skateboard adventure waiting for daredevils.
- Jumeirah Beach 2: LEGO beach builds and a lifeguard tower for endless creative play.
- Umm Suqeim Beach: Giant LEGO bucket and spade, perfect for imaginative seaside fun.
Not Limited To Kids
The Never Stop Playing initiative is about more than colourful bricks. It’s a reminder that play fuels creativity, confidence, and connection. Families, friends, and communities are invited to reconnect, challenge themselves, and maybe even discover a new favourite spot in their city. After all, life’s too short not to balance on a giant seesaw now and then.
