Yango Ride, the ride-hailing arm of global tech company Yango Group, has released its latest Safety Report, detailing the technology, support systems and community initiatives shaping safer journeys for passengers and partner drivers across more than 25 countries spanning MENA, Africa, Latin America and South Asia.

The report points to measurable progress across several safety metrics. Serious traffic violations fell by 31 per cent worldwide, dropping from 9.83 to 6.76 incidents per million trips. Reckless driving reports declined in every region tracked; 38 per cent in Africa, 24 cent in Latin America, and 47 percent across the Middle East and South Asia.
On average, an incident or near miss is now reported once every 64,000 kilometres of travel, roughly equivalent to two round trips between Yango Ride’s most distant markets, Peru and Pakistan. In regions where the company introduced privacy-protecting calling features, post-trip contact between riders and drivers, a proxy for off-platform disputes, dropped sharply: by 81 percent in Peru, 78 percent in Colombia and 31 percent in Pakistan, according to early 2026 figures.
The platform’s anti-fraud systems also flagged and blocked more than 17,000 passenger accounts globally during 2024–2025 over suspected fraudulent activity, helping shield partner drivers from harmful interactions. Urgent support teams operate around the clock, with trained specialists reaching 90 percent of urgent cases within five minutes.

A Layered Safety Framework
Yango Ride’s approach spans the full lifecycle of a trip. Before a ride starts, identity checks, including licence verification and recurring selfie authentication, control platform access. During the journey, a built-in Safety Center lets users share trip details with trusted contacts, reach urgent support, or trigger an SOS alert to local emergency services. Driving behaviour is monitored through GPS speed tracking and pattern analysis, prompting warnings or removal from the platform for repeated unsafe conduct.
