Searching job can be a full-time gig and mentally taxing. If you’ve been hunting for a job in the UAE through LinkedIn or any other portals, MoHRE has dropped some important updates.  Job seekers are at a vulnerable stage and can fall for some scams quite easily. But MoHRE is here to alert you about fake jobs and visa scams. And yes, it includes a warning about scams that are getting smarter and way more convincing in the  UAE.

MoHRE Alerts UAE Jobseekers Of Fake Job & Visa Scams

Remember the “Zero Bureaucracy” programme by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation? Yes, this programme was launched to make life a lot easier for employees and companies in the UAE. The collective aim of this programme is to align the start dates of employment contracts and residency permits so new joiners. This helps them avoid the post-joining paperwork hassle that should have been done before onboarding. If this gets approved, onboarding could become smoother in the UAE.

As per a report by Gulf News, the discussion took place during MoHRE’s latest Customer Council session. It was in the presence of 100 representatives from different sectors, along with senior officials like Khalil Al Khoori and Mohammed Saqr Al Nuaimi. The agenda also covered improvements to the Business Package Services through the “Work Bundle” platform. It’s a digital one-stop system designed to make HR admin for private-sector companies far less painful.

In the first half of 2025 alone, MoHRE held 23 Customer Council sessions with around 2,400 participants. That marks the total of 140 sessions and 23,000 stakeholders engaged since the initiative launched in 2022. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to build a service system that actually listens to its users and implements the given feedback to evolve.

Implementation Of AI In The System For Faster Resolutions

Part of that evolution is embracing tech and AI. The ministry wants most services to become proactive digital experiences.  But the ministry also issued a strong warning that job seekers need to take seriously. Criminals are pretending to be recruiters or companies and charging victims for ‘processing fees’, ‘visas’, or fake contracts.

MoHRE’s advice is to follow only job offers that come from MoHRE to understand if it’s legal. Job offers must be issued by the ministry and followed by an official work entry permit, not a tourist or visit visa. Employers must cover recruitment costs, not the candidate. And before you sign anything, verify the company on the National Economic Register and the permit through MoHRE’s website.
