1. Saudi Arabia Bans Citizens From Travelling To Ebola-Hit Countries
Saudi Arabia has borrowed its citizens from travelling to Uganda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a precautionary measure against the spread of the Ebola virus. Not to mention, they have also halted the issuance of visas and the entry of travellers who are coming in from these countries
2. Inaugural Trip Of Etihad Rail Sells Out
The inaugural trip of Etihad Rail has sold out. Yes, with strong demand for the passenger train, the online booking platform saw 5,000 passenger tickets being booked for the inaugural passenger service between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. All seats on the three scheduled journeys that are departing on June 30th have sold out completely. It should be noted that each train has a capacity of carrying 400 passengers.
3. Saudi Arabia Shuts 12 Water Bottle Plants
The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia has shut 12 water bottling plants in Jeddah. This development took place after inspectors found serious violations. As mentioned by the authorities, they could pose a risk to public health. The facilities were closed immediately after joint inspection campaigns were carried out.
4. Centre Point Footbridge Temporarily Closed In Dubai

As revealed by the Dubai RTA, the Centre Point Footbridge, which links the multi-storey car park to Centrepoint Metro Station, has been closed temporarily. This has been closed as construction work advances on the Blue Line of the Dubai Metro. The move is a part of the ongoing infrastructure development. So alternatively, a secure alternative passage way on Level G can be used by the people.
5. Oman Air To Launch Muscat-Abu Dhabi Flight From July 9th
Oman Air has announced that it will launch new daily direct flights from July 9th between Muscat and Abu Dhabi. This new route will offer travellers direct flights between the two nations. The service marks the airline’s 49th destination and also its 10th destination in the GC.
6. SelfDrive Announces Fleet Expansion
With the aim of meeting escalating demand, SelfDrive, which is a leading digital mobility platform, has announced its fleet expansion across Saudi Arabia. Boosting its car rental in Riyadh and Jeddah, the move aims to provide enhance technology enabled mobility solution.
7. UAE Continues To See Hot And Dry Weather
For the next couple of days, the UAE is going to stay hot and dry. With mostly fair weather, human conditions may bring the possibility of mist and fog during the night and early morning. Temperatures are expected to soar up to 45°C inland on Friday.
8. Louvre Abu Dhabi Unveils Major Exhibitions
Art Lovers are in for a treat as unveiled by Louvre Abu Dhabi. It’s for major exhibitions for 2026-2027. These are alongside programs of educational, cultural and interactive experiences. These exhibitions include A Pictorial Adventure, Spices and Wonders: Journeys Across the Indian Ocean, Richard Mille Art Prize Exhibition, and Heritage Lives: Preserving the Past, Inspiring Hope.

9. Ajman Reduces Government Working Hours
The Department of Human Resources in Ajman has announced reduced official working hours for government employees. This is during the summer and aims to promote a work-life balance and also support family well-being. This initiative will run from June 29th to August 28th.
10. Yas Community Park To Be Developed

The Aldar Group and the Community Development Authority – Abu Dhabi are collaborating to develop Yas Community Park. This is a multi-use destination on Yas Island, and it would host the Pulse Community Centre. It would accommodate diverse initiatives which aim to enhance communication among the community members.
