But before leaving the car just anywhere, it’s worth knowing that not every parking space is included. Some zones will still charge as usual, and the rules vary depending on where you are.

Dubai residents won’t have to pay for standard public parking on Monday, June 15. The exemption applies across public parking spaces managed by Parkin, including many parking areas attached to shopping centres.

That said, not every space gets a free pass. Multi-storey car parks will continue charging regular rates. The same applies to certain excluded locations, including Concord Tower. By Tuesday, June 16, standard parking fees will return.

Also, Dubai’s public transport network will be running on adjusted schedules for the holiday. Metro services on both Red and Green Lines will operate from 5am until midnight, while the tram will run from 6am until 1am the following morning.

For bus users, there is one change to keep in mind. The E100 route between Al Ghubaiba and Abu Dhabi won’t operate between June 13 and 15. Travellers can use the E101 service from Ibn Battuta instead.

Abu Dhabi Drivers Get A Break Too

Over in Abu Dhabi, regular public parking spaces will be free for the holiday.

But multi-storey parking facilities remain chargeable, so motorists should still check signs before leaving their vehicles.

There is another bonus for drivers. Several Darb toll gates will not charge fees on June 15. This includes routes at Sas Al Nakhl, Al Maqta, Rabdan and Al Saadiyat.

However, Al Qurm and Ghantout toll gates are not included and will continue operating normally.

Sharjah And Ajman Have A Few Exceptions

Sharjah has also announced free public parking for the holiday. The exception is the emirate’s smart parking zones. These areas, usually identified by blue signs, will continue charging throughout the holiday period.

Ajman is following a similar approach by offering free public parking across the city for the day.

The emirate has also confirmed that Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed on June 15 before reopening the following day.
