Doha residents, you might want to keep an umbrella within reach this week, even if it feels a little absurd given the heat. The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecast a chance of rainfall in parts of the country on both Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, 2026.

According to QMD’s latest update, shared via social media, Qatar is expected to see hot to very hot conditions overall but with a chance of local cloud formation that could bring isolated rain to some areas during the afternoon hours. Don’t expect a full-blown downpour across the country. Think patchy, localised showers rather than a nationwide soak.
Temperatures, Winds And Sea Conditions To Expect
Daytime highs are still very much in summer mode. Doha, Mesaieed, Al Wakrah and Al Khor could see temperatures reach up to 40°C, while Dukhan, Al Ruwais and Abu Samra are forecast to hit around 38°C. As for winds, inshore areas can expect northeasterly to southeasterly breezes at 5–15 knots, while offshore winds lean southwesterly to northwesterly at 3–13 knots. If you’re planning anything on the water, sea conditions look manageable for now, with waves staying calm, up to 2 feet inshore and around 3 feet offshore.
