Sharjah Approves 400 Iftar Distribution Sites Across The Emirate For Ramadan

Sharjah is going big this Ramadan. The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah has officially approved around 400 Iftar locations across the emirate, covering cities, neighbourhoods, and high-density residential areas.

Sharjah Approves 400 Iftar Locations For Ramadan, Strengthening Community Spirit

These Iftar spots aren’t scattered randomly on a map. Authorities placed them where people actually live and move. They are mostly near mosques, open squares, and busy residential zones. Easy access comes first, and visibility follows.

As per the report by Gulf Today, community-driven initiatives like these play a growing role in regional social infrastructure, especially during high-travel and high-mobility periods like Ramadan.

Food Safety Isn’t An Afterthought, But The Ultimate Goal

Let’s get one thing straight. Feeding people at scale only works when safety stays tight.

The Department coordinated with relevant authorities to approve locations based on actual area needs, crowd safety, and food handling standards. Organisers must use specialised containers and approved tools to keep meals fresh during transport and distribution.

One Table, Many Cultures

Step into any of these Iftar tents, and you’ll see it instantly. These tents, apart from offering food, quietly stitch communities together. People who are fasting for Ramadan, belonging to all walks of life, sit together, share dates, water, and stories. It’s generosity without labels, and that’s what makes it powerful.

Part Of A Bigger Ramadan Plan

This initiative is part of a wider series of Ramadan programmes led by the Department in collaboration with charitable institutions and private donors.

The goal is to grow the culture of giving, boost social responsibility, and keep Ramadan grounded in warmth and togetherness. Sharjah is reinforcing its long-standing role as a hub for organised, meaningful charitable work.

Anyone can set up an Iftar tent. Sharjah chose to do it with structure, dignity, and reach.
