As a measure that supports the citizens, Sharjah Police has launched a temporary service of number plate delivery that would assist individuals affected by recent adverse weather. The elderly residents and individuals with disabilities will now be able to receive replacement vehicle plates delivered to their homes at no charge.

Sharjah Police Offers Free Number Plate Delivery After Weather Damage

The project lasts three days, beginning Sunday, March 29. It is straightforward and is meant to relax residents after a tough spell in the weather. The point is that qualified residents will not be required to visit any service centres. Instead, they can simply dial 901, the police contact centre, and request the service. That’s it. No queues, travel or added hassles.

This feature is important, particularly to individuals who might have difficulties in travelling or standing in queues.

Who Can Benefit From This Online Service?

The target audience of the service is two-fold:

  • Elderly residents
  • People with disabilities

Residents should request a free replacement if they lost their vehicle number plates in the recent weather.

The government has advised residents who are eligible to fully use this temporary aid.

Here’s How The Process Works

After making a request, the Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department comes into play. They do all the work; that is, they issue, print and deliver the replacement plates to the residence. No paperwork runs or back-and-forth visits.

The Gulf News report indicates that the project reflects a broader initiative to provide flexible services that operate efficiently in exceptional circumstances, saving residents time and energy.

A Focus On Community Care

The initiative is not only concerned with number plates. The initiative focuses on adjusting services to meet the most pressing needs.

According to authorities, the idea is to enhance the efficiency of the services and increase the connection between the security services and society. When you are in a place of disruption, the support that arrives on your doorstep is important.

What Residents Should Do Now

The sooner the better, in case you or a person you know qualifies. The service will be offered over a period of three days. Dial 901, make your request, and let the system do the rest.
