The UAE has been stepping up to elevate services for citizens. From Dubai to Abu Dhabi, there has been an ease in services, be it for the process or the fees regarding it. Sharjah has recently joined in to strengthen its position to make residents free of financial burdens. Sharjah has announced a 50% exemption on attestation fees for unattested lease contracts. This initiative came into the picture under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed.

So, the first question that pops into mind is which categories will this initiative be applied to? Well, according to a report by Gulf Today, the decision applies to all residential, commercial, industrial, and investment contracts.  But there’s a condition for it. All these leases have to be signed before the implementation of Law No. (5) of 2024. Only these old contracts are eligible for a 50% discount on fees. It might even extend to be fully exempt from administrative fines related to non-attestation.
This initiative will run from 1 November 2025 to 31 December 2025. Tenants and landlords in Sharjah have ample time to regularise their contracts without penalties.

Launch Of Food Hub In Sharjah

The Ruler of Sharjah and the Council further announced a food-related initiative. They are calling it the Hasaad Centre Project. It will act as a dedicated hub for collecting locally grown vegetables and fruits.

This will benefit the Emirati farmers by reducing logistical challenges and ensuring their produce reaches major retailers and distributors seamlessly. The centre will handle packaging, quality checks, and labelling under the UAE’s strict food safety standards. Implementation of this project across the UAE will manage to minimise market risks and promote sustainable agricultural planning.

Community Well-being

With the 54th Eid Al Etihad approaching, Sharjah announced celebrations with cultural shows, heritage zones, and performances.

Apart from these initiatives, the Council has approved the conversion of 113 housing loans into full grants. Yes, citizens will receive full financial backing if they meet eligibility conditions under the Sharjah Department of Housing’s regulations.

Also, a new Legislative Drafting Guideline has been introduced by the council to ensure all government laws are clear, standardised, and digitally aligned for the future.
