1. Passport Directorate Clarify About Passports For Saudi Citizens
Saudi Passport Directorate has clarified that passports which are issued to Saudi citizens for the first time do not require activation. However, it does mention that citizens who have renewed their passports should get their previous passports checked. Their new passport will be activated at any passport office, branch office or even international port of entry. It was further revealed that the checking or activation process does not require a prior appointment.
2. Dubai To Ban Lorries On Sheikh Zayed Road From October
Dubai has announced that it will be imposing a rush hour ban on lorries. This is on Sheikh Zayed Road and several other key routes across the emirate from October 1st. The aim is to cut congestion and boost safety. This move also aims to improve the efficiency of the transport and logistics network in the city.
3. Dubai Unveils Advanced Testing Ground
On Sunday, September 28th, Dubai unveiled a cutting-edge testing centre. This testing centre is where the future fleet of autonomous vehicles will be developed. The Dubai Mobility Labs, which is based at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, comes with a vast multipurpose area. After the inaugural board meeting, his highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, has approved the Dubai Longevity Authority’s strategy and budget.
