Saudi Arabia’s online shopping scene is transforming from next year. Starting January 1, 2026, parcel companies in Saudi Arabia will stop accepting or delivering shipments that do not carry a registered Saudi national address. Here’s what shoppers need to know about this new shopping regulation by the government.

What Is Saudi Arabia’s National Address Rule & How Will It Affect Shoppers?

The directive comes from the Transport General Authority, as mentioned on their official channel on X. This new regulation will be applied to individuals and businesses alike. The countdown stays fixed, and everyone has about two weeks to prep before couriers shut the door on unregistered deliveries

Why Saudi Arabia Is Drawing A Hard Line?

This move is to offer speed, accuracy, and fewer multiple calls from the delivery guy. According to the Authority, the national address system helps parcel companies trace exact locations. That means faster drop-offs, fewer lost shipments, and less back-and-forth between drivers and customers. It also tightens operations across the logistics sector.

Basically, this results in smoother deliveries when everyone uses the same address system. No guesswork. It completely removes vague directions and the hassle that follows.

Who Needs To Register?

If you receive parcels in Saudi Arabia, you need a national address. That includes:

  • Online shoppers
  • Home-based businesses
  • Companies receiving regular shipments

But even if you consider yourself a pro in instructing the delivery guy on call, this won’t cut.

How To Register Your Saudi National Address?

You can access the service through:

  • The official National Address platform
  • Absher
  • Tawakkalna
  • Sehhaty
  • Saudi Post (SPL)

Here is how it works:

  1. Log in to gov.sa using your Absher credentials
  2. Click Start Service
  3. Sign in using NAFATH
  4. Fill in your details carefully
  5. Submit and register your address

The registration takes minutes, and the activation usually completes within 24 hours. You will also receive a transaction number for tracking.
