If you’ve ever thought Dubai traffic can’t surprise you anymore, Business Bay just proved to be different. A short Instagram video has sparked a long conversation about congestion in one of the city’s busiest business districts, and honestly, it sparked outrage online
Dubai Business Bay Traffic Chaos Goes Viral, RTA Promises Fix By 2026
In the clip, a real estate professional films a colleague who left work at 6:30 pm and, nearly two hours later, is still stuck right outside the same building. Why? The jam-packed traffic is not ready to move.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the video was shared by Farhan Basheer, who works in real estate and knows the Business Bay personally.
When Leaving The Office On Time Or Early Feels Pointless
The video shows Farhan walking toward a car that hasn’t moved much since clocking out time. The driver laughs, half joking, half defeated, and says in Hindi, “Aaj toh watt lagne wali hai”, which translates: today’s going to be rough.
And rough is putting it politely, given the traffic you can witness in the video.
Farhan explained that his colleague remained stuck for nearly 1.5 hours, barely moving from where she started. The clip struck a chord because this is what normally happens in terms of traffic in Dubai.
Business Bay’s Growing Traffic Problem
Business Bay is packed with offices, luxury towers, and residential buildings. Towers like Prism, Regal, and One by Omniyat sit close together, causing thousands of cars to use narrow exits every evening.
Farhan tagged Roads and Transport Authority on Instagram, urging officials to address what commuters describe as a daily struggle. We understand if traffic moves slowly, but being stuck in the same spot for hours sounds like a major traffic control issue.
RTA Responds With A Long-Term Plan
To its credit, the RTA authority responded publicly, confirming that traffic solutions are on the way.
According to the response in the comments, RTA plans major road upgrades starting in the first quarter of 2026. These include improvements to Al Mustaqbal Street, Al Borsa Street, and Al Sukook Street, along with a redevelopment of the Trade Centre Roundabout on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Social Media Says What Everyone’s Thinking
The comment section turned into a group therapy session.
“This is just sad,” one user wrote.
Another added, “I was also stuck there for two hours.”
Someone joked, “Badnaam sirf Bangalore hota hai,” pointing out that traffic woes aren’t limited to Indian cities anymore.
You know the famous trend of “ Habibi, come to Dubai” that was viral in every other video a few years back? Well, someone in the comments said, “Don’t come to Dubai, Habibi” citing the rising traffic due to the increasing population.
With more offices opening and residents moving in, Business Bay traffic needs quicker fixes, and RTA has already confirmed help is on the way!
