Recently, social media was rife with rumours of Bangladeshi nationals getting visa restrictions and a possible ban. However, it was recently clarified that the UAE has not made any such announcements regarding the visa ban. And therefore, the reports that were claiming the former on social media were false and not attributed to any of the UAE government officials. Here’s all about the visa-related news.
UAE Visa Ban For Bangladeshis
As mentioned in a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that some platforms, which claimed that the UAE has placed a ban on nationals of several countries, including those from Bangladesh, were untrue. Yes, these rumours were indeed false, as no statement was attributed to any UAE official. In fact, the report also mentioned how the citizens of these countries would not be able to obtain a work or tourist visa.
But it was later clarified by officials that the UAE authorities had not issued any new directive for a ban. Not to mention, the news is inauthentic! This development comes at a time when 0.84 million Bangladesh nationals are currently living in the UAE. Yes, they make up about 7.4% of the population in the Arab countries.

Ugandan Visa-Related Development
It was just recently that the news of the United Arab Emirates announcing some bans and visa restrictions for several countries went viral. These included those for Bangladesh, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Uganda, Cameroon, Sudan, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. The viral social media claim even suggested that the restrictions were temporary. However, another media outlet, SoftPower News, claimed that these allegations are unfounded.
As such, each application is assessed on the basis of its own merit, and the ban is on individual circumstances, but not nationality. As a result, Ugandans in the UAE and those who also wish to travel to the country were asked to rely only on official sources of information.
So, if you are also trying to keep up with the updates from the UAE regarding its visa rules, it’s best that one relies on official sources and the statement from the government authorities. After all, sometimes rumours on social media can create a lot of panic.
