It was reaffirmed by the UAE Media Council on September 25th that the use of generative Artificial Intelligence or similar technology for depicting national symbols or public figures without prior approval is prohibited. UAE Media Council Bans Use Of AI Temperature For National Symbols
As per the law, you cannot use AI or similar technology for depicting national symbols or public figures without prior approval. Doing so without approval and spreading misinformation, defaming others, promoting hate speech, harming the values and principles of society, or undermining the dignity and reputation will be considered a violation of the media subject. Not to mention, they will be subject to the provisions of the media violation regulation, which includes fines and administrative penalties.
Compliance With The Regulation Is Important
Social media users, including media institutions and content creators, must comply with the approved law and standards. They must do so to uphold professional and ethical responsibility. It should be noted that the mission maintains strict media regulations. This is being done to curb the spread of misinformation and online bullying. Moreover, with the reinforcement of cohesion and coexistence, which is in line with the country’s policy of tolerance.
