Birthdays in the UAE just got a national soundtrack. As part of the Year of Community 2025, the country has launched its first official Emirati Birthday Song. And while it’s technically “just” a song, it feels like a cultural reset. A tradition everyone knows, given a distinctly Emirati spin.

UAE Drops Its First Emirati Birthday Song And It’s For Everyone

Truth be told, it’s clever. Instead of importing a tune the world already sings, why not craft something that reflects the sounds and stories of people here? That’s exactly what this project, created in partnership with Ferjan Dubai, set out to do.

Turning A Familiar Tune Into Something New With Everyday Voices

This wasn’t polished in a studio by a handful of professionals. Far from it. The campaign called on people across the Emirates to pitch in, and they did. Schoolchildren sang, poets contributed lines, and everyday residents added their voices. Even casual singers and musicians got involved.

Ferjan Dubai also wove in real, everyday sounds: the laughter of children, the beat of neighbourhood life, the rhythms that feel instantly familiar if you live here. Come on, we all know that’s the kind of detail that makes something stick, it feels lived in, not manufactured.

A Song You’re Meant To Use

The Emirati Birthday Song isn’t just for listening. It’s been made public so families, schools, and communities can share it as their own. Play it at home, teach it to kids, or belt it out at celebrations. It’s built to be passed around, not tucked away in some official archive.

The lyrics are warm and direct, blessings for health, happiness, and years filled with goodness. Nothing fancy, but maybe that’s the charm. It’s easy to remember, easy to sing, and yes, surprisingly uplifting when a group gets going.
