Perseids Meteor Shower is an annual event. And this celestial event is making its appearance soon in the Dubai skies. The planet moves through the debris trail left by a former comet. The annual meteor shower is going to light up the Dubai skies. The absolute peak time to see the meteor shower is between August 12th and August 13th. During a typical meteor shower, you will be able to see between 60 and 100 meteors per hour, if the conditions are ideal.
Where To Watch The Perseids Meteor Shower In The UAE?
Not only this, you don’t need any high-tech equipment to enjoy this glorious view of the sky. All you need to do is get away from the bright city lights to witness this event. This would ensure the best conditions, allowing skywatchers to take in the beautiful night sky. In fact, the UAE has some of the best spots where you can enjoy the meteor shower.

Al Quaa Milky Way Spot
This is an open spot and is perfect for stargazing. It is around 90 minutes from Abu Dhabi towards Al Ain. And if you plan to visit, you will need a 4X4 car to get there.
Shuweihat Island
If you are interested in a place that looks awe-inspiring both during the day and at night, then this island is perfect. About a four-hour drive from Dubai, you will find salt flats here. Just like the previous one, 4X4 car is recommended while visiting.
Hatta
The Hajar Mountains, which are located in Hatta is just about an hour and a half away. It is a great spot to see the night sky. However, since the spot is not really in the wilderness, there might be some light.

Dubai Astronomy Group To Host A Viewing Event
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the Dubai Astronomy Group will also be hosting a viewing event. This will be at Al Katim Desert in Abu Dhabi. It will take place on August 12th, and the tickets start at AED160. You can register for the event online.
