What Is Qatar’s OUN App & How Can Residents Access It?

If you live in Qatar long enough, someone will eventually tell you to download the OUN app. Usually, after you complain about the paperwork. Or when you’re trying to book something connected to the municipality and suddenly realise the process mostly happens online now.

What Is The OUN App In Qatar?

The app is run by Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality, also known locally as Baladiya. And honestly, it’s become one of those apps people end up needing more often than they expect.

At first glance, it just looks like another government services platform. But once you start using it, you realise how many daily things actually connect back to it.

For many residents, the biggest use is booking access to public parks without standing in long entry lines. Through the app, people can pre-book tickets for places like Panda House Park, Al Khor Park and Barazan Park.

Helps With Everything From Parks To Pest Control

That alone saves time during weekends when families start arriving early, and queues build quickly. 

But the app goes way beyond park bookings. Need pest control? There’s a request section for that. Drain blocked? You can report it there, too. There are also services linked to sewage vehicles, advertising permits and property lease-related requests.

Some people probably download the app for one thing and then keep it because another issue pops up later.

More Than Just A Municipality App In Qatar

Also, one useful part is that the app keeps track of your requests and complaints. Even if you contact the ministry through calls, your records can still appear inside the system. That makes follow-ups slightly less painful.

The app also shares ministry updates and gives information about different municipality branches across the country.

That said, navigating government apps can still feel a bit confusing sometimes, especially when there are many categories packed into one platform. OUN covers a lot. Agriculture services, fisheries, animal-related departments, urban planning and building permits all sit inside the same app.

There’s even a section for delegation requests and geographic services.

For residents dealing with government processes regularly, though, having everything in one place probably makes life easier than jumping between offices. And in some cases, the app isn’t just helpful. It’s the only way to access certain services.
