The national emergency response forum was launched under the National Unified and Integrated Preparedness and Response System. Launched by the UAE national program for preparedness and response, it provides participation from healthcare, civil defence, security, and vital sector entities, and here’s all you need to know about it.

National Emergency Response Forum Launches In Abu Dhabi

This forum forms a part of the national efforts for enhancing institutional integration with the aim of unifying operational concepts. Additionally, the aim is also to strengthen the efficiency of emergency and crisis response systems that are in line with the best international practices, bringing together the officials, experts and first responders, who are from healthcare institutions, civil defence, police, ambulance, and other critical sectors that are involved in managing major incidents.

This Happening Over A Course Of A Week

The first line of defence personnel from the Jaheziya Programme, the Istijaba Programme and the UAE National Medical Reserve & Volunteer Programme were honoured. They were recognised for their role in safeguarding the community and strengthening the national health system. It featured panel discussions, workshops, and technical presentations that showcase national and international experiences.

Not to mention, as revealed in a report of the Gulf News, it also talked about emerging trends in emergency preparedness and response, which enhance the competencies of the first responders. The forum also addressed key themes such as emergency management strategies, multi-agency readiness, command and control systems, and best practices in life-saving operations.

Plan To Train 20,000 Frontline Personnel

This forum took place at a time when the government of Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a strategic plan for training 20,000 frontline personnel. This included both healthcare and non-healthcare workers across healthcare facilities, security entities, emergency medical services, and other critical sectors. This was an announcement that was made during the emergency response forum, which took place on April 5th in Abu Dhabi. It should be noted that this forum will be running over the course of a week, and it will move across several emirates. It will move to Ajman on Tuesday, followed by Fujairah on Wednesday, and the event will conclude on Sunday in Dubai
