GCC Updates
1. Dubai RTA-Yango School Rides Expands
It was mentioned recently that Yango Ride has expanded its School Rides pilot. This is a partnership with Dubai RTA and has been expanded to five additional schools. This followed increased demand from families for the service. So, the Yango School Rides now covers 11 school destinations, which are across 12 residential communities in Dubai.
2. SalamAir Adds Copenhagen Flights From November

SalamAir recently announced that it will be launching flights to Copenhagen, Denmark via Baghdad. This would be launched from November 14th, 2026. As it happens, it is operating under fifth-freedom traffic rights on the Baghdad–Copenhagen sector. With the launch of the flight, it creates a new travel link between Oman, Iraq, and Denmark.
3. Wizz Air To Resume Flights To Two UAE Destinations
Wizz Air, as revealed by the Gulf News, will resume flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The low-cost airline has announced that it would be resuming flights to these destinations, along with additional regional destinations, Jeddah and Amman.
4. Saudi Arabia Issues Thunderstorm Warning
The Civil Defence in Saudi Arabia has asked residents to be cautious. Thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast across several regions. This forecast is from Wednesday through Monday. Authorities have therefore warned about the possibility of flash floods, hail and strong winds.

5. Oman To Launch Self-Driving Vehicles In 2027
An operational trial of self-driving electric vehicles in 2027 was conducted at the Salalah Airport. As mentioned by Oman Observer, it’s expected that these self-driving electric maybe launched in 2027, after the successful trials.
