Art D’Égypte’s globally recognised Forever Is Now is returning to the Giza Pyramids this November for its sixth edition, once again placing contemporary art in conversation with one of humanity’s oldest monuments.

Art D’Égypte’s Forever Is Now Returns To The Giza Pyramids

A Female-Led Line-Up This Year

For years, the exhibition has turned the Pyramids into a place of encounter between past and present, where artists and audiences from all over the world are invited to rethink ancient history in a contemporary perspective.  This year, that tradition continues with a female-artist-led edition bringing together practices from France, the US, China, Britain, Jamaica and Egypt.

Art Meets Ancient Architecture

Forever Is Now 06 will run from November 4 to 28, 2023, bringing site-specific installations and monumental works to the 4,500-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site. This edition looks at the relationship between humanity, architecture and the natural world, drawing on the Pyramids’ geometric precision, celestial alignment and enduring cultural significance. Across the plateau, contemporary works will engage with ideas of spatial order, cultural memory and the dialogue between the ancient and the now.

The exhibition approaches the Giza Plateau as a living cultural landscape rather than a relic frozen in time, asking how ancient systems of knowledge continue to shape the way we understand and imagine the world today.

The Details

For anyone planning a Cairo trip this autumn, this is shaping up to be one of the more striking cultural windows to catch. It’s free, open-air, and set against a 4,500-year-old backdrop that few art exhibitions anywhere can match.
