As the moon sighting committees convened across the Middle East today to sight the crescent, Zayed National Museum is marking Eid al-Fitr with a slew of public programmes. Called the ‘Joy of Eid,’ this programme offers cultural performances, workshops, and activities, all of which have been designed to bring families and communities together. Here’s all you need to know about the programme.
Zayed National Museum Launches The Joy Of Eid
Reflecting the year of family, Zayed National Museum has launched the ‘Joy of Eid’. This is a public programme that offers cultural performances, activities, and workshops. Aiming to highlight the role of shared traditions and heritage, visitors of all ages can partake in these experiences here. As mentioned in a news report, these are all inspired by Emirati customs that are inside the galleries and public spaces of the museum.
What Does The Programme List Feature?
Coming to the programme list, it features traditional performances, such as Al Harbiya, Al Ayyala, and Al Habbān. Not to mention, there will also be live demonstrations by Emirati practitioners, which will showcase falconry, perfume-making, and weaving. The fun, however, doesn’t just end there! There are also interactive workshops, heritage games, and cooking sessions inspired by local flavours that will also form a part of the celebrations.
Not only this, but there will be a film screening, creative activities that explore the importance of family, preserving memories and cultural identity across generations. Moreover, there will also be a special memory corner, which would allow visitors to create personalised keepsakes that reflect the spirit of Eid.
