If you’re looking for an interesting winter plan that includes fresh air, stunning mountain views, and something a little different, consider visiting Hatta. Dubai Municipality has announced the return of the Hatta Honey Festival. It’s bringing one of the region’s most loved rural events back under its #HattaWinter programme. The festival runs at Hatta Hall until December 31, 2025. Best part? Your entry is completely free.

Hatta’s Sweetest Festival Is Back

Hatta’s Honey Festival is a celebration of local farming, small businesses, and the region’s growing role as a winter escape. More than 50 indoor stalls feature Emirati beekeepers and honey producers, each showcasing a unique variety. Alongside them are 10 outdoor stalls highlighting retail concepts and family-run businesses. Visitors here stand a chance to buy directly from the source.

Food trucks, live performances, and community spaces make it easy to spend a few relaxed hours here.

According to Dubai Municipality, the festival plays a role in supporting Hatta’s long-term vision as an eco- and agri-tourism destination. Hence, the focus stays mainly on local producers.

A Proper Family-Friendly Winter Outing

This festival’s audience ranges from kids to adults.  Families will find children’s play zones, hands-on workshops, and open spaces designed. Adults can settle into the traditional majlis or attend educational sessions running across both indoor and outdoor areas.

There’s also an indoor lounge and outdoor workshop zones. You can dig in from the four food and beverage trucks after that long stroll along the stalls.

How Honey Quality Gets Checked

One of this year’s most interesting additions comes from the Dubai Central Laboratory.

The laboratory has set up an on-site testing platform. Visitors get to understand the process of honey quality and safety verification. Using advanced infrared technology, experts can analyse samples in under a minute. The lab also demonstrates an automated system where a smart robot receives samples. This diminishes human handling, leading to improved accuracy and hygiene.

A Digital Identity For Emirati Honey

The festival also marks the launch of a new initiative: a laboratory fingerprint and digital identity for Emirati honey.

This system will verify a product’s origin, type, and quality through lab analysis. Dubai Municipality will sign a cooperation agreement with the Hatta Traders Council to roll it out. Officials say it’s the first project of its kind in the UAE.
