If your weekend mornings usually mean sleeping in or scrolling through brunch options, Jeddah just handed you a much better alternative. Starting in September, JYC Academy at Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina is introducing dedicated Morning Kayak & SUP sessions every Friday and Saturday, giving early risers a genuinely different way to kick off the weekend.

What To Expect From The Sessions

Each session runs for a full hour, taking place within the calm waters of JYC Marina rather than out in open sea, a smart setup for anyone who’s never tried kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding before. You don’t need any prior experience to join in either. The JYC Academy team runs through the basics before you head out on the water, and a rescue boat stays on hand throughout the session, so it’s a genuinely beginner-friendly setup rather than a sink-or-swim situation.

Kayak Or SUP, How To Choose?

If you’ve always been curious about trying a SUP but felt hesitant about heading straight into open water, this is a low-pressure way to test it out within the sheltered marina. If balancing on a board before you’ve even had breakfast sounds a little ambitious, the kayak option gives you the same time on the water with a bit more stability underneath you. Either way, you’re looking at a genuinely refreshing start to the day, and one that still leaves most of your weekend ahead of you once the session wraps up.

It’s an easy, low-commitment way to build a new weekend habit, and considerably more interesting than another lazy morning at home.
