Lace up, Qatar. Before the world’s best triathletes take over Lusail, the community gets its turn on the course. Visit Qatar and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) have confirmed that the Qatar T100 Kick Off Run is returning for 2026, with a 1km and a 5 km run open to everyone, whatever your age or fitness level.
Two Runs, One Evening In Lusail
Mark Thursday, 10 December in your calendar. The 1km run starts at 5.45pm in Lusail, and the 5km follows at 6.30pm. Neither run is timed, so there is no clock to chase and no pressure to keep pace. Individuals, families and children are all welcome, which makes it an easy evening out whether you jog every morning or haven’t run since school. The idea is to make the sport feel approachable, so you do not need a race history, a training plan or a fancy watch. Bring the kids, bring your friends, and treat it as a warm-up for the weekend rather than a test.
A Three-Day Race Weekend Begins
The runs open a three-day programme. The Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final takes place on 11 December, and the T100 Age-Group World Championships follow on 12 December. So even if you would rather watch the spectacle than sprint through it, you can still be part of the build-up.
Want A Proper Race? Try The Amateur Triathlons
Fancy a proper race instead? The weekend also includes open 100 km and sprint-distance triathlons for amateur athletes. For the first time, both distances will have relay options, so you can split the effort with friends or teammates rather than tackling everything alone. Whichever way you go, you’ll race against the backdrop of Lusail’s waterfront.
The World Championship Final
The Final of the 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour. Leading professional triathletes will arrive in Qatar to compete for the season’s world championship titles, so the course you jog on Thursday will be the same stage they fight over a day later.
