Riyadh Gets The World’s Highest Gym Class 2,200 Feet Above & It’s Not For The Faint-Hearted!

If your January fitness motivation is fading faster than a skipped leg day, Riyadh just took working out to new heights. It lifted the bar 2,200 feet into the sky, literally. GymNation has launched the World’s Highest Gym Class in Riyadh, and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

GymNation just casually launched a workout session in a hot air balloon in Riyadh. This latest class swaps four walls for open air. Picture taking a gym class straight up above the city for a 30-minute strength and conditioning session mid-flight.

The experience kicks off on solid ground with a proper warm-up. Then the balloon slowly lifts, and you’re floating 2,200 feet above Riyadh. Imagine gripping weights with a view of the skyline. It’s fitness with altitude and bragging rights.

What The Workout Looks Like In The Sky

Once airborne, the workout gets down to business. Expect full-body moves using both bodyweight and dumbbells. GymNation has even renamed the exercises to suit the scene.

Think Cloud Crushers instead of squats, Altitude Lunges, Wing Spans, Bicep Take-Offs. Overhead Ascent presses. Your heart rate climbs faster than the hot air balloon in the air.

Views That Put Every Gym Window To Shame

While your muscles burn, your eyes get rewarded. The class offers sweeping views of Riyadh’s landmarks, including Kingdom Tower, Majdoul Tower, and Al Faisaliah Tower. It’s easily one of the best “gym views” on the planet so far.

The Science Behind The Stunt

GymNation developed the class alongside health and safety experts and sports scientist Aderito Manuel.

Altitude training boosts red blood cell production and haemoglobin levels compared to on-ground activities. This helps muscles use oxygen more efficiently. That’s why elite athletes swear by it. Also, you can burn 5 to 15 per cent more calories compared to the same workout at ground level.

According to GCC fitness research, 67 per cent of exercisers now want memorable, experience-led workouts. GymNation is making that wish come true.
