On March 29th, Dubai hosted its first rescue runway dog adoption show. During the show, 40 adorable dogs walked the runway as the crowd cheered for them. Touted to be the first-ever dog adoption run show in the UAE, it was truly unlike any other event. Here’s what went down at the unique show.
Dubai’s First Rescue Runway Dog Adoption Show Organised
With about 500 people showing up at the event, this is the first-of-its-kind event that took place in the country. Organised at Event Chic Ballroom, which is in Al Quoz, the event was free to enter; however RSVP was important. Although the dog walk began at 4 PM, there was also a meet and greet with the dogs, which happened before the show.
Different Breed Walked Down The Ramp
The event space was designed to resemble a runway with people seated on either side of the ramp. Rescue dogs walked proudly on the runway, leaving people gushing over them. From Pomeranians to Huskies, dogs from different breeds walked down the aisle, looking absolutely exuberant at all the attention they were getting.

Leading Rescue Organisations Were A Part Of The Event
In fact, an adorable dog on wheelchair stole hearts as she rolled down the ramp, making people cheer for her loudly. The event was organised by Flooff.me in collaboration with Event Chic Ballroom. And the leading rescue organisations from across the UAE came under a single roof. Yes, we are talking about RAKAWC, Green Paws from Dubai, Stray Dog Centre and House of Hounds.
Several dogs were later moved into trial adoption periods after the event, as revealed in a report of the Gulf News. For those wondering, this is basically a test period of around a week, which ensures that the animal and the households are a right fit for each other.
It is expected that the second event will soon happen, and it could be as early as April if one goes by the same report.
