Tora Tora, a modern Japanese ramen house inspired by the flavour, movement and energy of Japanese street culture, is set to open at Dubai’s new First Avenue Mall in Jumeirah 2 later this year. Worth noting: this is a brand-new mall of the same name, distinct from the existing First Avenue Mall in Motor City.
Designed as more than just a place to grab a bowl, Tora Tora is being built around freshly prepared ramen made with carefully developed recipes and quality ingredients, alongside energetic interiors and a lively social atmosphere.
What’s On The Menu
While the full lineup remains under wraps, guests can expect comforting bowls of ramen at the centre of the menu, complemented by Japanese street-food favourites, small plates, and playful drinks and desserts. The concept is going for something approachable and generous rather than fussy or formal.
The Meaning Behind The Name
Tora Tora means “tiger” in Japanese, reflecting the strength and confidence behind the concept, a spirit that’s meant to carry through everything from the visual identity to the energy in the kitchen and dining room.

Design Inspired By The Brandmark
Australian design studio mckimm has conceived the interiors as an extension of the Tora Tora identity, with the floor plan centred around an interactive kitchen that forms the heart of the restaurant. Traditional Japanese references meet contemporary design sensibilities and bespoke details throughout, connecting the food, the guests and the story of the brand.

Built For Spontaneous Visits
