If you grew up in Cairo, you know when someone says, “I’m going to Alexandria this weekend,” it’s never for just the beach or Corniche walks. The hidden mission was always to get the most-wanted sandwich. The one that made adults fight the urge to order 20, then pretend they’d only ordered “a small snack.” The one people inhaled without shame. Cairo people would know how we would ask friends visiting Alexandria to return with at least five sandwiches from Kebdet El Falah.

Egypt’s Most-Wanted Sandwich, Kebdet El Falah, Opens In Cairo

Cairenes clung to the nearest friend driving north, handing them a list longer than a grocery order. “Please, please, just grab me three kedba El Falahs.” As if three ever lasted more than five minutes. Let’s not forget Ramadan. Other places tried. Some even put yoghurt on their suhoor tables, hoping for balance. But once El Falah entered the chat, nobody cared about balance. People queued like they weren’t fasting the next day. They stood in line, eyes half-closed but spirits fully awake, ready for that sandwich to fix their entire night.

But guess what, Cairo residents? The joy of getting your hands on these sandwiches nearby will soon be a reality. Kebdet El Falah has finally arrived in Cairo.

It’s official. Kebdet El Falah is opening in Cairo. Not a knockoff or a copy of the sandwich. Not a “kind of similar” version. The original. El-Hagg Waheed El Falah himself announced the opening of the outlet on their official Instagram.

Where Is The Outlet Opening?

The first branch opens on Thursday, November 27th, in El Korba, Heliopolis, right next to the Modghout Dajaj spot. Yes, right in the heart of a neighbourhood already known for chaotic parking. As if traffic needed another plot twist. But honestly? Worth it.

Because this is more than a sandwich shop opening. A cultural moment. A reunion between Cairenes and a sandwich they’ve yearned for like a long-distance lover.

Finally, Cairo? Welcome to the good life.
