Dubai’s coffee crowd has a new place to talk about. And this one already has the attention of the Dubai Ruler. HH Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was recently seen visiting Cherry House during its soft opening weekend, just before the café officially opened to the public on May 18. The visit quickly got people talking online, especially coffee lovers always hunting for the city’s next big café.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Drops By Dubai’s New Coffee Spot Cherry House

And honestly, Dubai is not exactly short on coffee spots. But Cherry House seems to be aiming for something a little bigger than your average flat white stop. Located in Al Safa 1 near Sheikh Zayed Road, Cherry House brings together a roastery, bakery, espresso bar and dining space all under one roof.

The idea for the place actually started back in 2019. Its name comes from the coffee cherry, the fruit from which coffee beans come before roasting. Inside, the whole place leans heavily into deep cherry colours and warm interiors. Visitors can see roasting happening inside the space, and the venue also features what it says is the UAE’s first belting system designed specifically for moving coffee through different stages of preparation.

The Same Entrepreneur Behind Saddle And Feels

The concept comes from Emirati entrepreneur Mohamed Matar Al-Kus El-Falasi, who also founded the popular café brands Saddle and Feels.

The venue shared clips from Sheikh Mohammed’s visit on Instagram and called it “the beginning of something special”. And in Dubai, a royal visit during the soft launch weekend definitely gives a place instant attention. Also, it’s not just coffee on the menu. The bakery prepares both sweet and savoury items in-house, so people coming for breakfast or dessert will probably find enough reasons to stay longer than planned.

Dubai’s Café Scene Keeps Getting Bigger

Dubai has turned into one of the region’s busiest coffee cities over the last few years. New homegrown brands keep opening, and customers have become surprisingly picky about beans, brewing styles and even water temperature. Whether it becomes the city’s next must-visit café long term is something time will decide. But having Sheikh Mohammed walk through the doors before the official opening? That’s already a pretty strong start.
