Sharjah Sustainable City II Unveils Smart, Energy-Saving Homes
The project comes from a partnership between Sharjah Investment and Development Authority and SEE Holding. Both companies lean towards the idea that eco-friendly homes are no longer a niche idea. According to a report by Scene Now UAE, demand for sustainable communities in the UAE continues to rise as buyers look for long-term savings and a better quality of life.
What’s Being Built And Who It’s For
The development spans 7.8 million square feet and includes 1,032 homes in total. Buyers can choose from 944 three- and four-bedroom townhouses or 88 five-bedroom villas, all designed with families in mind.
Every home comes smart-enabled and fitted with solar panels and energy-efficient appliances. That means lower electricity bills, reduced environmental impact, and reduced bills.
A Community Designed Around Movement And Green Space
There’s a two-kilometre green spine which isn’t a design element. It’s a functional corridor built for walking, cycling, and low-impact mobility.
The idea is to make it easier for residents to move without cars. The layout supports shaded walkways, cycling paths, and open areas that connect homes to shared facilities. Add biodiverse landscaping, and you get a neighbourhood that’s calmer, cooler, and more liveable.
Food, Waste And Transport Done Differently
Apart from saving energy, the community also plays safe with local food production with farmlands and biodomes planned as part of the layout. Residents can stay closer to the source of their food, while the community reduces transport-related emissions.
