Dubai loves a good global import. But now and then, a place opens that hits nostalgia. Batliwala & Co. in Business Bay is not just another restaurant. It’s old Bombay, neatly packed into Dubai with parsi comfort food, grocery shelves and all.

And yes, it comes with a full Parsi Bawa-style grocery store inside.

According to updates shared on multiple Instagram channels, this opening is meant to feel personal. You walk in and immediately get the vibe inspired by the Bombay of the 90s. The balcony-style seating, vintage Bollywood posters and the unmistakable Irani café charm make you want to linger a little longer than planned.

An Irani Café, A Bar, And A Grocery Store Rolled Into One

Located at Bay Square inside DoubleTree by Hilton, Batliwala & Co. works on multiple levels. It’s a fully licensed Iranian café and bar. It’s a nostalgic tribute to Bombay’s disappearing café culture. And now, it’s also a proper Parsi grocery store.

The shelves stock old-school essentials you’d usually hunt for in Mumbai lanes. Think pantry staples, snacks, and products that feel like home if you grew up around Parsi kitchens.

Classic Bombay Food, Cooked The Way It Should Be

The menu reads like a greatest-hits list for anyone who loves Irani café food. From the crowd-favourite Bun Maska and cutting chai start things off. Then come meals like Kheema Pao, Kolmi Patio, Dhansak and the legendary Berry Pulao that instantly transports you to Britannia vibes. Mumbaikars can relate here!

True to Parsi cooking traditions, flavours stay mild, balanced and thoughtful. There’s richness, but never heaviness. Even desserts like Mawa Cake. Lagan nu Custard are served here.

Cocktails With A Sense of Humour

The bar menu clearly borrows heavily from Bombay references and Irani flavours. Expect names like Irani Biscuit Old-Fashioned, Guava Bawa and Berry Fatakri. High Chai gives a boozy twist to a daily ritual.

How can you forget the old-school Pallonji’s sodas? It makes an appearance, along with Thums Up.

What makes the experience surreal is the setting. You’re eating Dhansak, looking out at Burj Khalifa. It’s Bombay soul with Dubai chic.

Batliwala & Co. leans into memory, community and food that tells a story. The grocery store seals the deal and makes the place you return to, again and again, but this time with a shopping bag.
