When we sat down with Desi Bling’s Iryna Kinakh at Amaru for our In Your Neighbourhood chat with Bianca, she’d already told us how her Dubai journey began at a hotel front desk. What she hadn’t told us yet was the story of the man she met there, Dubai entrepreneur Dyuti Parruck, who is now her husband. That story, we promised, deserved its own space. So here it is, straight from Iryna.
“He Was Pretending. He Didn’t Know How To Read The Hand,” Says Iryna
Iryna was working at the hotel, and Dyuti was a guest, when she spotted him reading another woman’s palm across the room. She’s always been drawn to fate and fortune-telling, so she walked over and asked if he’d read hers too. There was just one problem, which she only found out later: he had no idea how to read palms. He’d been faking the whole thing, probably just to strike up a conversation with the other guest. So I came to him, and I was like, please, can you read for me? And he’s like, you know, I’m busy now; I was with my friends, but I will give you my number.”
It started with a lie about reading palms, a nervous laugh, and a phone number scribbled down.
Friends First, Long Before A Romantic Relationship
She admits she took that number more seriously than she expected to. The two started talking but stayed firmly in friend territory for a while. And that time, I was also going through some depression because I got too much weight. I was like 10 kg more than now. I had the biggest body which I had in my life. “Iryna says something she now recognises as a form of depression, while Dyuti was going through his own rough patch with his business. Neither of them tried to fix the other. They just leaned on each other, and she credits that stretch, more than anything, for making the relationship that eventually followed feel solid.
An Astrologer’s Prophecy, And A Marriage That Moved Fast
Once Dyuti relocated to Dubai for good, things picked up speed. “He wanted to have children, and he kept telling me that time that some astrologer told him that by the end of 2019 he would have a baby. And I was like, sitting with him, like, from who you will have this baby?” she laughed.

Turns out the prediction wasn’t far off. She also talks about the shift in her own mindset the day she went from girlfriend to wife. She threw herself into the role fully, even picking up cooking despite disliking it before, just to show up for the marriage the way she wanted to.
