Emirates is taking its Premium Economy cabin up a notch with a new seat that combines electric controls, greater privacy and upgraded comfort. The airline has introduced what it describes as the world’s first electric Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen between every seat. The new seats are debuting on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, adding another layer of privacy to Emirates’ growing Premium Economy offering.

The A350 Premium Economy cabin has a spacious 2-3-2 layout with just 28 seats. Each seat is 20 inches wide, with up to 39 inches of seat pitch. The biggest change is the electric privacy divider. Passengers can raise or lower it using the seat controls and lock it into their preferred position. Whether you’re working, eating or simply trying to switch off during the flight, the divider creates a more personal space without having to move seats.
The seat itself is also fully electrically powered. Passengers can adjust their position using the integrated Passenger Control Unit, with dedicated settings including lounge mode and meal mode. The seat reclines into a cradle position, allowing passengers to relax without taking away space from the person behind them.
Comfort Gets An Upgrade Too
Emirates has added its U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats to the new Premium Economy seat. The leather headrest can be adjusted in several positions, offering support around the neck and head. A manually deployable leather footrest provides additional leg support, particularly during longer flights.
There is also a practical tray table with a built-in phone holder, allowing passengers to keep their device within easy reach while eating or watching content.
Wireless Charging Comes To Premium Economy
For the first time, Emirates is introducing wireless charging in its Premium Economy cabin. Compatible devices can be charged directly at the seat, while every passenger also gets access to USB-C charging. Entertainment is handled through Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system, displayed on a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.
Passengers travelling on the new A350 aircraft will also get expanded exterior camera views. Alongside the existing forward and downward perspectives, new left and right-facing cameras will offer additional views from the aircraft.
Premium Dining At 30,000 Feet
The upgraded seat comes as part of Emirates’ wider Premium Economy experience. Passengers receive regionally inspired menus prepared by Emirates chefs, served on Royal Doulton china with linen napkins and Robert Welch stainless-steel cutlery.
The beverage selection includes Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, which is available exclusively to Emirates Premium Economy passengers worldwide. From September, selected routes will also feature wines including Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014. October will bring another first, with Wiston Estate Brut NV becoming Emirates’ first English sparkling wine. It will be served exclusively in Premium Economy on UK routes.
Amenity Kits With A Sustainability Focus
Passengers on long-haul services also receive reusable amenity kits created in partnership with United for Wildlife. The collectible bags feature endangered wildlife across four natural habitats and use bio-based materials, including cactus leather alternatives.
Inside, passengers will find travel essentials such as socks, eyeshades, earplugs and a dental kit. The kits will also introduce Aveda skincare products to Emirates Premium Economy for the first time.

Emirates Continues To Expand Premium Economy
Emirates introduced Premium Economy in 2022 and has continued expanding the cabin across its fleet. The airline says the product is now available across all markets currently served by its A350 aircraft. With spacious seating, upgraded dining, entertainment and added privacy, the latest seat is another step in Emirates’ effort to make its Premium Economy cabin feel closer to the experience of a higher class of travel.
The new electric seat and full-height privacy screen now add another feature to that proposition, giving passengers more control over how they spend their time in the air.
