Emirates recently clarified that citizens of the UAE will now need to have a six-month validity on their travel document if they are travelling on the passport order. This was revealed by the Gulf News in its report, where it also mentioned that the airline cited the UAE government’s regulations, which called upon this requirement.
Emirates Advises Travellers To Be Aware Of Their Passport Validity
As revealed by the Gulf News, Emirates, which is a Dubai-based airline, has cited UAE government regulations. So, citizens of the UAE must have a minimum of six months’ validity on their travel document, whether they are travelling with their Emirates ID or passport. However, it should be noted that this requirement is applicable to all the destinations except for the GCC. And it is regardless of the entry rules of the destination.
Why Is This Important?
This means that if you are someone who is travelling and your travel document does not need this requirement, you will not be allowed to complete the check-in process. As a result, travellers are urged to ensure that they check the validity of their documents before they arrive at the airport. However, if you happen to be a traveller who needs to renew your passport, you can avail the renewal service, which is available at Terminal 3, Arrival Level Immigration Offices.

The Process Of Renewal Is Simple
This process is quite simple, and it generally takes about 30 minutes, depending on how many passengers are queuing up. So, whether you are travelling for work or leisurely purposes, make sure to be aware of the validity of your travel document. After all, it can affect your plans if the criteria are not met. Don’t forget to take note of this important update for travellers!
