Etihad Airways recently announced the launch of seasonal flights from June 26th onwards. These flights would be to Dhaka, which would strengthen the travel, trade, and cargo links between the UAE and Bangladesh. The Abu Dhabi-based airline will run these flights until October, and here’s all you need to know about the development.

Etihad Airways To Begin Seasonal Flights To Dhaka

Etihad Airways, which is an Abu Dhabi-based airline, has announced that it will begin seasonal flights to Dhaka from June 26th onwards. This is to strengthen the travel, trade, and cargo links between the two countries. As it happens, it would be serviced by four weekly flights that would run until October 24th. Connecting Abu Dhabi to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, it aims to meet the strong demand for passenger travel and logistics between the two markets.

It Would Be Serviced By Boeing 777


The airline mentioned how it would be operating Boeing 777 aircraft. This aircraft has a configuration of 28 business and 374 economy seats. Offering a significant cargo capacity as well, it supports the movement of goods across key trade routes. This is a part of the airline’s broader strategy of expanding its network while being in line with the demand. Not to mention, it also aims to strengthen the emirates’ role as a global hub linking South Asia with key international markets.

UAE’s Home To One Of The Largest Bangladeshi Communities In The World

This is an important development as the UAE is home to one of the largest Bangladeshi communities in the world. With the introduction of the new service, there would be a direct link for families who wish to travel between the two countries. Not to mention, those travelling from Bangladesh would be able to make use of the brilliant onward connections that are offered through Abu Dhabi.

This development comes when Air India Express also announced that it would operate limited flights in the Gulf region. Maintaining connectivity on selected routes through ad hoc operations, there are no scheduled operations for the UAE at this point.
