If you have a booking from Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia this week, check it before you set off. Etihad has extended cancellations on selected flights connecting the UAE capital to Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh through October 13. The airline says the situation remains dynamic, so it may make further schedule changes.
What Etihad Has Announced
The adjustments follow disruptions at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where operations were temporarily suspended for assessments and safety checks. On Sunday, October 11, cancellations and delays also affected services from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina and Abha among those impacted.
Etihad Flights Affected
The cancellations apply in both directions between Abu Dhabi and the three Saudi cities, so return journeys from Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh are affected too. Here is the flight-by-flight breakdown.
October 12
Dammam: EY573, EY574, EY575 and EY576. Jeddah: EY601, EY602, EY603 and EY604. Riyadh: EY559 and EY560.
October 13
Dammam: EY575 and EY576. Jeddah: EY602, EY603 and EY604. Riyadh: EY551 and EY552.
Etihad also cancelled EY573, EY574, EY601, EY559 and EY560 on October 11.
What Affected Passengers Should Do
Etihad advises travellers to check the latest status of their booking on its official website before leaving for the airport. If you need help with your reservation, the airline’s customer support page lists local phone numbers, live chat and social media contact options.
Etihad has apologised for the inconvenience and says its teams are assisting affected passengers with their travel arrangements. The airline adds that the safety and comfort of guests and crew remain its top priority.

Handy Tips Before You Travel
Travel plans can change at short notice, so a little preparation helps. Other UAE carriers have also issued updates for their Saudi routes, so it is worth checking directly with your airline if you are booked elsewhere. Keep your contact details up to date on your booking, allow extra time if you do travel, and avoid heading to the airport until your flight status is confirmed. Having the airline’s contact details saved on your phone can also save time.
If you are connecting through Abu Dhabi to a Saudi destination, check each leg of your journey rather than only the first one. Schedules are changing quickly, so refer to Etihad’s official channels for the most current information.
