If you’ve been putting off booking that next trip, you might want to check Etihad Airways’ site before the week’s out. The airline has quietly rolled out a flash sale, knocking as much as 30 per cent off fares to nine of its newest destinations. Etihad’s flash sale runs only until Thursday, 28 August, so there’s not a huge window to mull things over.

Etihad Airways Puts 9 New Routes On Flash Sale With Fares From AED1,465

The discounted tickets cover travel between 1 September and 31 December 2025. That means autumn breaks, end-of-year getaways, or even a cheeky long weekend if you can make the dates fit.

What’s The Offer?

Unlike the usual “one region, one deal” type sales, this one spreads far. Etihad is pushing new flights across Africa, Asia and Europe, with return fares starting at AED1,465. That figure applies to Addis Ababa, where travellers can dive into Ethiopia’s sprawling capital, its markets, food scene and the National Museum, home to “Lucy”, the famous fossil that scientists still call humanity’s grandmother.

Head east and you’ll find several Southeast Asian spots on the list. Chiang Mai, a favourite for its temples, street food and elephant sanctuaries, comes in from AED1,835. Down south, Krabi offers beaches and island-hopping escapes at the same price. Hanoi, Vietnam’s buzzing capital, is also part of the deal, with fares starting at AED1,835.

Etihad hasn’t ignored the bigger hubs either. Hong Kong, with its skyline views and famous food stalls, is available from AED1,935 return. A bit further north, Kazan in Russia is priced at AED1,465, handy if you’ve always wanted to see the UNESCO-protected Kremlin without spending a fortune.

On the Indonesian side, Medan is up for grabs from AED1,825. It’s not the first city tourists usually think of, but its mix of cultures and food makes it worth a look. Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital, comes in at AED1,835, offering golden palaces, riverfront walks and chaotic markets. The list rounds off with Tunis, the Tunisian capital, where tickets start at AED1,835, and history lovers can wander through the old Medina or the Bardo Museum’s mosaic collection.

Why It Matters

Etihad only added these cities recently, so the flash sale looks like a push to build early demand. Analysts say that’s a common move, fill the seats now, create momentum, and travellers spread the word. For passengers, the upside is obvious: cheaper flights on routes that would normally cost quite a bit more.

Etihad has confirmed that availability is limited, and once the discounted seats are gone, fares will climb back up. Tickets can be booked through the airline’s site, the app, or through its usual travel agents.

Bottom Line

It’s not every week you see fares like this on fresh routes, especially heading into the cooler months when many in the UAE are already plotting trips abroad. If you’ve got time off saved, the bigger dilemma might not be whether to go, but whether you want beaches in Thailand, souks in Tunisia, or maybe a plate of noodles in Hanoi.
